Fixed penalties always include a fine (£30-£200), but can also add penalty points on a driving licence.

All drivers who obtain 12 penalty points within a three year period, or new car licence holders who obtain six penalty points within two years of passing their test, will usually be disqualified from driving.

Is your driver's licence up to date?

Nearly 8 million motorists (one in five) are risking a £ 1,000 fine because the addresses on their driving licences are inaccurate. Address details can be updated online (visit www.dvla.gov.uk) or by completing the relevant section on the counterpart licence.
